Murchison Falls National Park

Covering an area of over 3,840 km², Murchison Falls National Park is the largest conservation area in Uganda. The park’s name derives from its famous waterfall: the mighty Murchison Falls, which are formed where the Victoria Nile powerfully forces its way through a narrow cleft before plunging 43m down with a thunderous roar.

Queen Elizabeth National Park 

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited game reserve and certainly the most scenic. The park has a big variety of habitats including savanna grassland mixed with various kinds of trees and grassy plains, but also tropical rainforest, different swamps and volcanic features, comprising volcanic cones and deep craters.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is an excellent place to sight large game, track the chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge, go bird watching on the Kazinga Channel, and see the famous tree climbing lions in Ishasha.

Kibale National Park 

Kibale Forest National Park is located in west-central Uganda just east of the Rwenzori Mountains, near the town of Fort Portal. The 766 km² park predominantly covers evergreen rain forest and ranges between 1100 and 1600m in elevation. Kibale Forest is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests and forms a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 1994. Bwindi was gazzeted a national park in 1991. It lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are encased by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.
This diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes. There are around 350 species of birds that live in this forest, not forgetting the 23 Albertine Rift endemics.
A stream collection of luxury lodges, budget campsites, rustic bandas and restaurants, craft stalls and guiding services is what you can never wish to miss. The local Bakiga and Batwa Pygmy cultures through performances, workshops and village walks should never miss out.

Lake Mburo National Park

Located 220 kms south west of Kampala, the Park is the smallest of Uganda's wildlife parks, it’s a four-hour drive from the capital Kampala. Lake Mburo has rich animal life with more than 332 different species of birds and 69 different mammals which include the impala, buffalo, leopards, hyenas, jackals, etc). Lake Mburo is also the only park in south western Uganda that hosts zebras and elands, Leopards and Hyenas are also Present in this park. The Park can be accessed on a direct route from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable forest and from Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishaka and it can be visited any time of the year. Tourists can be in position to do Game drives, Birding, Night drives where nocturnal animals can be spotted, salt Lick walks and mountain biking at Rwakobo rock and Leopard tail Rest camp. Kidepo Valley National Park 

Kidepo Valley National Park is a 1,442 square kilometres National Park in the Karamoja region in Northeast Uganda. Kidepo is rugged savannah, dominated by the 2,750 metres Mount Morungole and transected by the Kidepo and Narus rivers. The Eastern and Northern parts of Uganda is fully packed with adventure, from the roaring waterfall hikes in Sipi Falls, to the cultural encounters with the mesmerizing tribes of Karamojong.

Semuliki Valley National Park

Semuliki/ Semliki National Park stretches across the base of the Semliki Valley on the remote, western side of the Rwenzori mountains. The park is dominated by the easternmost extension of the great Ituri Forest of the Congo Basin. This is one of Africa’s most ancient and bio-diverse forests; one of the few to survive the last ice age, 12-18,000 years ago.
The park contains several features associated with central rather than eastern Africa. Thatched huts shaded by West African oil palms; the Semliki River (which forms the international boundary) is a miniature version of the Congo River.
The Park consists of Hot springs (Sempaya Hot Springs) bubble up from the depths to demonstrate the powerful subterranean forces that have been shaping the rift valley for the last 14 million years.

Mt. Elgon National Park

At 4,000km² Mt. Elgon happens to have the largest volcanic base in the world. Located on the Uganda-Kenya border it is the oldest and largest solitary, volcanic mountain in East Africa. with a vast form, of 80km in diameter, it rises to more than 3,000m above the surrounding plains. The mountain provides big refuge for flora and fauna.
The Park is home to more than 300 species of birds, including the endangered Lammergeyer. The higher slopes are protected by national parks in Uganda and Kenya, creating an extensive trans-boundary conservation area which has been declared a UNESCO Man & Biosphere Reserve.
A climb on Mt. Elgon’s deserted moorlands exposes a magnificent and uncluttered wilderness without the summit-oriented approach common to many mountains: the ultimate goal on reaching the top of Mt. Elgon is not the final ascent to the 4321m Wagagai Peak, but the descent into the vast 40km² caldera.
