Murchison Falls National Park

Covering an area of over 3,840 km², Murchison Falls National Park is the largest conservation area in Uganda. The park’s name derives from its famous waterfall: the mighty Murchison Falls, which are formed where the Victoria Nile powerfully forces its way through a narrow cleft before plunging 43m down with a thunderous roar, you can expect to quench your eye thirst with a variety of animals, birds and rest at the beautiful lodges.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most visited game reserve and certainly the most scenic. The park has a wide range of habitats including savanna grassland mixed with various kinds of trees and grassy plains, but also tropical rainforest, different swamps and volcanic features, comprising volcanic cones and deep craters.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is excellent place for you to sight large game, track the chimpanzees in the Kyambura Gorge, go bird watching on the Kazinga Channel, as well as Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise and see the famous tree climbing lions in Ishasha.

Kibale National Park

Located in west-central Uganda just east of the Rwenzori Mountains, near the town of Fort Portal. The 766 km² Kibale Forest National park predominantly covers evergreen rain forest and ranges between 1100 and 1600m in elevation. Kibale Forest is one of the last remaining expanses to contain both lowland and montane forests and forms a continuous forest with Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site in 1994. Bwindi was gazzeted a national park in 1991. It lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley. Its mist-covered hillsides are encased by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants. More famously, this “impenetrable forest” also protects an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population, including several habituated groups, which can be tracked.
This diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 mammals, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes. There are around 350 species of birds that live in this forest, not forgetting the 23 Albertine Rift endemics.
A stream collection of luxury lodges, budget campsites, rustic bandas and restaurants, craft stalls and guiding services is what you can never wish to miss. The local Bakiga and Batwa Pygmy cultures through performances, workshops and village walks should never miss out.

Lake Mburo NP

Located 220 kms south west of Kampala, the Park is the smallest of Uganda's wildlife parks, it’s a four-hour drive from the capital Kampala. Lake Mburo has rich animal life with more than 332 different species of birds and 69 different mammals which include the impala, buffalo, leopards, hyenas, jackals, etc). Lake Mburo is also the only park in south western Uganda that hosts zebras and elands, Leopards and Hyenas are also Present in this park. The Park can be accessed on a direct route from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable forest and from Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishaka and it can be visited any time of the year. Tourists can be in position to do Game drives, Birding, Night drives where nocturnal animals can be spotted, salt Lick walks and mountain biking at Rwakobo rock and Leopard tail Rest camp. Kidepo Valley National Park

Located in the rugged, semi-arid valleys between Uganda’s borders with Sudan and Kenya, Kidepo Valley National Park lies 700km north east of the capital Kampala. Gazetted as national park in 1962 the park hosts over 77 mammals and nearly around 475 bird species.
Kidepo is Uganda’s most isolated national parks, but the few who make the long journey north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja will accept that it is also the most magnificent. From Apoka, in the heart of the park, a savannah landscape extends far past the gazetted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges.
During the dry season, the only permanent water in the park is found in wetlands and remnant pools in the broad Narus Valley near Apoka. These seasonal oases, combined with the open, savannah terrain, make the Narus Valley the park’s prime game viewing location.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits on a high altitude of between 2,227m and 4,127m. As its name, it was created to protect the rare mountain gorillas that inhabit its dense forests, and it is also an important habitat for the endangered golden monkeys.
As well as being important for wildlife, the park also has a huge cultural significance, in particular for the indigenous Batwa pygmies. This tribe of hunter-gatherers was the forest’s “first people”, and their ancient knowledge of its secrets remains unrivalled.
Mgahinga’s most striking features are its three conical, extinct volcanoes, part of the spectacular Virunga Range that lies along the border region of Uganda, Congo and Rwanda. Mgahinga forms part of the much larger Virunga Conservation Area which includes adjacent parks in these countries. The volcanoes’ slopes contain various ecosystems and are biologically diverse, and their peaks provide a striking backdrop to this gorgeous scenery.
