By 7:00 am your breakfast will be ready as you prepare to start on a long Bwindi Impenetrable national park Journey. This is a 500km journey from Kampala which is expected to last for around 8 to 9 hours. Along the way u will make a stopover at the equator where major latitude crosses Uganda at 0 degrees. You will proceed your journey having a view of the scenic beauty of the land.
Since the Journey will be long, you will only do an evening community walk in the Batwa (Pygmies) from here u will later retire in the evening for dinner.
One of the memorable experiences you will ever have in life is Encountering the rare and endangered Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
This Park hosts half of the world’s population of gorillas, under the mist-covered canopies of Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rainforest, comfortably u will be able to feed your eyes with this treasure of the mountain Gorillas. In the company of an experienced park ranger, you will be tracking the whereabouts of one of the nine habituated family groups that live in the park.
Your tracking experience will be an exciting, yet challenging, journey due to muddy and slippery slopes, thick vegetation and bamboo forests before you reach the territory of these gentle giants. Along the way, your ranger will point out telltale signs of previous gorilla activity like dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Depending on the location of the gorillas on a given day the walk can last from 2 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas has been located, settle in to your surroundings and enjoy the hour you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates whose habits and gestures remind us so much of our own. Without a doubt, encountering the mountain gorillas in the wild is a truly humbling and emotional experience, one that you are sure to live your life in Remembrance.
Early in the morning, you will depart from Bwindi and embark on a drive to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The park is located in the far south-western region at the border with Rwanda and Congo. Situated in the Virunga mountains lies mgahinga which has 3 inactive volcanoes – Mount Muhabura, Mount Gahinga and Mount Sabinyo, found within its borders. Once there, you will embark on a gorilla trekking excursion. Apart from Bwindi, Mgahinga happens to be the only other place where mountain gorillas can be encountered in Uganda. You will also visit the Pygmies from where you will retire in the evening
Before Departure, you will trek the golden monkeys in one of the park’s dense forests. After the excursion, you will embark on a drive back to Kampala for your connecting freight
