Bwindi Gorillas & Kibale Chimpanzees
For Primate Lovers, this trip will be spectacular and one to remember as you come into close contact with Chimpanzees and Gorillas in Kibale and Bwindi national Parks respectively. The Adventure can never leave you the same. You will encounter and happily interact with the local communities. Your Safari will begin with a guide Picking you from Entebbe international airport upon your arrival.
Located south of the town Fort Portal, Kibale National Park this largely forested park, covers an area of 795km2 and it is best known for its number and variety of primates, which include Uganda’s largest population of chimpanzees. You will transfer to Kibaale vial Mubende, with a brief stop over at Nakayima spiritual tree where you will meet a story teller about the Baganda Culture, from there proceed to Fort portal by driving through beautiful well levelled Tea estates and humble local homesteads where you are likely to reach by Lunch time. In the wee hours of the afternoon visit the traditional cultural sites like the Amabere ga Nyina mwiru (Stalactites & Stalagmites) where you will hear the interesting local tales about them.
By Early morning at 6:30 am, move to the park headquarters after your morning breakfast for a brief message by the park ranger. At 8:30 am you will begin trail which takes a minimum of 3 hours to track the chimps in the forest.
You will the descend back to the lodge lunch from where you will prepare for an evening nature walk in the Bigodi wetland. Here you Expect to see some primates which include different monkey species; and a glut of birds. This will be the climax of your day as you return to your lodge for evening dinner and overnight relaxation.
By 7:00 am your breakfast will be ready as you prepare to start on a long Bwindi Impenetrable national park. This is a 236km journey which is expected to last for around 5 to 6 hours. Along the way u will make a stopover in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park for a brief game drive to capture a glance of the tree climbing Lions. Later the journey to Bwindi will continue where u will stop at Buhoma for your lunch and then proceed with an evening community walk in the Batwa (Pygmies) from here u will later retire in the evening for dinner.
One of the memorable experiences you will ever have in life is Encountering the rare and endangered Mountain Gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Your tracking experience will be an exciting, yet challenging, journey due to muddy and slippery slopes, thick vegetation and bamboo forests before you reach the territory of these gentle giants. Along the way, your ranger will point out telltale signs of previous gorilla activity like dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots. Depending on the location of the gorillas on a given day the walk can last from 2 to 7 hours. Once the family of gorillas has been located, settle in to your surroundings and enjoy the hour you have to quietly observe these fascinating primates whose habits and gestures remind us so much of our own. Without a doubt, encountering the mountain gorillas in the wild is a truly humbling and emotional experience, one that you are sure to live your life in Remembrance.
After breakfast you will embark on an 8hour Journey to Entebbe International Airport for your connecting flight.
