 Kibale – Queen Elizabeth Safari

This 5 days Uganda safari is the ideal package for the primate – wildlife lover. A trip to Kibale National Park guarantees you an encounter with 13 primate species including; the endangered chimpanzees, baboons and various monkey species. A visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park is your chance to encounter over 95 mammal species including the noteworthy tree-climbing lions in Ishasha.

This safari begins when you embark on a drive to Southern Uganda – the location of Kibale National Park. You will have lunch in Fort Portal town and after your lunch, you will visit to the ‘Amabere ga nyina mwiru’ caves and then get on a guided tour walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary where you will see a variety of bird species your eyes have never encountered before. You will also have a view of some of the crater lakes and from there you will retire for an evening at the beautiful lodges in the land  

Early morning after your breakfast, your guide will take you through the events of the day and your main adventure will be the Kanyanchu primate walk. You will embark on a guided quest for the 13 primate species found in the park. You will go trekking chimpanzee. You will encounter one of the habituated chimp families and then go ahead to see the various monkey species. Later in the afternoon, you will go for a birding excursion along the boardwalk trail and the various viewing platforms in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary with over 138 bird species.  

You will Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the early morning after your breakfast. Once you arrive at the park, you will drive north of Mweya peninsula to engage in the famous crater drive. You will explore the crater lakes in the region and also enjoy a splendid view across the great Western Rift Valley and its escarpments, the Rwenzori mountains, Kazinga channel and lakes Edward and George. Its on that very day that you will visit the salt crater lake of lake Katwe. 

Early morning after your breakfast, you will go for a long game drive, driving through the beautiful savanna lands lying in the rift valley base. You will be able to sport a wide range of huge mammals like Heard of Elephants, Buffaloes, Water bucks and many creatures. You will also go for birding excursion in any of the park’s major spots. The park has over 600 bird species found in; Maramagambo forest, Kazinga channel, Mweya peninsula, Kasenyi plains, Lake Kikorongo, Katunguru bridge area and Katwe area. You will come back for your Lunch and from there you will go for an afternoon launch cruise in the Kazinga channel where you will still enrich your eyes with a variety of crocodiles, Hippos, numerous Bird species and the watering animals at the banks of the lake. You will retire for an evening at your hotel with simple activities like swimming. 

After an early morning breakfast at 8:00 am embark on a 2-hour Journey covering 120kms to the southern wing of Queen Elizabeth Ishasha to catch view of the climbing Lions. At 10:00 am full berried and satisfied lions are already in fig trees as they seek shelter in the tree branches from the scorching sunshine. This will be the climax of your journey as you embark on a long journey to Kampala for your connecting freight at Entebbe Airport.
