Rongai Route 

From the vast plains of viewing the snowcapped Kilimanjaro, the Rongai Route begins in attractive farmland and delightful forest, with the opportunity for viewing some wild game, the route will lead you through several different climate zones, adding considerably to the interest of the trek. This route retains a sense of unspoilt wilderness and offers a different perspective on Kilimanjaro by approaching it from the north. From the alluring summit of Uhuru Peak (5895m), we will have amazing 360-degree views of the surrounding plains one at the summit

Your trip starts in Moshi where you will have arrived the previous night, you will transfer to your starting point for the Kilimanjaro expedition. You will arrange with your guides to your ascent through rainforest to reach the lower parts of Kilimanjaro. You will hike for 5-6 hours through the ancient jungles as we pass through the shrubs to arrive at Mandara Huts where we shall spend a night.

You will leave Mandara after your morning breakfast for a long day hiking, where the hike of the day will take you from the rainforest to the stark alpine zone. You will cover a long distance of around 10 to 11kms to Maundi Crater. If the weather is clear, you will find stunning views of Kibo Glacier from here before settling down for the evening and an overnight.

This will be another big day of hiking having relaxed the previous night, you will make your way to Kibo hut where you will camp ahead of your summit attempt the next day. You will climb for 1,000m, passing a watering point at 4,130m mark before arriving at Kibo Hut in the afternoon. You will stay here for an overnight as you prepare for your summit the next day

Your climbing team will wake you up to start on your last segment of the summit, you will wake up earlier after midnight to prepare for your adventure ahead. You will hike in darkness for 5 to 6 hours, only to arrive at Stella Point a few hours before dawn. And from here, you will intensely hike for another two hours before reaching ultimate goal Uhuru Peak, the climax of your expedition. You will Stand at 5,985m and experience a spectacular sunrise and take in the panoramic views at the rooftop of Africa. After a memorable photo moment, you will then descend back to Horombo Hut via Kibo Hut to relax and have an overnight as well as celebrations.

You will enjoy the last breakfast on the mountain before descending to the Marangu Gate where you will celebrate with your porters and guides and collect your certificate of completion. You will slope downhill for close to 20 kms before being driven to Moshi or Arusha for an extended rest.
