Murchison & Kibale Trek
Murchison Falls National Park is a popular safari destination in Uganda, known for its stunning waterfall on the Nile River and diverse wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, and hippos. Kibale National Park, on the other hand, is famous for its population of chimpanzees and other primates. Both parks offer unique experiences for nature lovers and wildlife enthusiasts.
Having arrived t the airport, our Gorge Africa safaris team will be with you from the beginning to the very end to make you have the maximum comfort and find home outside home. Your day one will start with our guide picking you from the airport or from the hotel where u will have had your night, after a brief meeting and orientation, you will travel to Murchison falls national park. Along the Journey you will stop at Zziwa rhino sanctuary in Nakasongola for rhino trekking and later proceed for lunch break in Masindi. You will after proceed to the park and drive to the top of the Murchison falls for superior views from where you will retire for a night.
Having fully relaxed from a long Journey of the previous day, a fully packed awaits as you will be proceeding for a game drive in the Northern Nile delta circuit, this is once in a life time of the journeys to remember as you will enrich your eyes with high concentration of wildlife. You will spot the leopards along the leopard track, Jackson’s hartebeest, many of Uganda Kobs, large families of the Defassa waterbuck, together with giraffe herds, groups of the dainty oribi and buffalo herds. The delta also attracts birders with specials like the Abyssinian ground hornbill, shoebill (herons, waders, and egrets around small pools of water) Senegal thick-knee and Denham’s bustard.
In the evening you will head out for a launch cruise on the famous Nile River, an evening you will live to tell your grandchildren for having seen one of the ever-beautiful sceneries in the world the Murchison Falls, you won’t miss a glance on the largest crocodiles, Hippos, and elephants playing in the water.
If you really love birding, you will consider adding an extra day in Murchison Falls NP to visit the Royal Mile. Located in Budongo Forest Reserve in the southern part of Murchison Falls NP. The forest trails here were popular jaunts for Ugandan royalty once upon a time, but is now better known among the birding community for being the best bird watching spot in the country. Among the 350 species reportedly seen in the area, including some rare species, you will see several types of flycatchers, spine tails, sunbirds, kingfisher, barbets, hornbills and eagles. You will later hike to the top of the falls to experience the water fall rumble. you will retire for an overnight.
Early morning you will transfer to Kibale National Park to catch an afternoon game drive.
Located south of the town Fort Portal, Kibale National Park this largely forested park, covers an area of 795km2 and it is best known for its number and variety of primates, which include Uganda’s largest population of chimpanzees. In the wee hours of the afternoon visit the traditional cultural sites like the Amabere ga Nyina mwiru (Stalactites & Stalagmites) where you will hear the interesting local tales about them. you will later retire for an evening.
By Early morning at 6:30 am, move to the park headquarters after your morning breakfast for a brief message by the park ranger. At 8:30 am you will begin trail which takes a minimum of 3 hours to track the chimps in the forest.
You will the descend back to the lodge lunch from where you will prepare for an evening nature walk in the Bigodi wetland. Here you Expect to see some primates which include different monkey species; and a glut of birds. This will be the climax of your day as you return to your lodge for evening dinner and overnight relaxation.
After breakfast you will embark on a 7-hour Journey to Entebbe International Airport for your connecting flight.
