Nyungwe Forest, L. Kivu & Volcanoes

In addition to its biodiversity, Nyungwe Forest National Park is also known for its stunning scenery, with cascading waterfalls, scenic viewpoints, and dense vegetation that make it a truly magical place to explore. The park is a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognizing its importance in preserving the unique ecosystem of the region.

Nyungwe Forest National Park is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, offering a unique and memorable experience in the heart of Rwanda's beautiful wilderness.

Upon your arrival in Kigali, your will drive off to Nyungwe Forest National Park, along the way, you will make stops at a Cultural Heritage Corridor of Rwanda and to visit the King’s Palace and the Ethnographic Museum to view the old tools. Nyungwe forest is a home to chimpanzees’ and other primate species like the White Colobus monkeys, it is a Paradise for bird watching a great deal of species close to over 300 species. You will find great deal of activities like Hiking, tracking the chimpanzees, experiencing the canopy walk, birding, relaxing by waterfalls.
You will arrive at your lodge for Relaxation and an overnight 

Having relaxed for an overnight, you will wake up before dawn for the chimpanzee tracking in the Nyungwe Forest, you way carry your breakfast with you and after a short briefing by your guide, a walk-through stunning tea plantation before entering the thick luscious forest will commence. There are over 13 species of monkey found in the forest and excellent birding opportunities.

The excursion can last from one to four hours but you will definitely be welcomed by the sound of the chimpanzees from the moment you enter the forest. You will spend an hour with the chimpanzees, watching them play, fight and eat in their habituated area. You will return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation. 

Having experienced the good memories of Nyungwe forest, you will then transfer to Lake Kivu which is located in the south western part of the country. The three-hour drive will usher you into experience good scenic views of Rwanda. You will Look for the beautiful islands of Lake Kivu and beautiful shores, relaxing at Serena resort located on the north shore for an evening will be ideal. You will experience the views of Congo region.
Spend an evening kayaking and swimming in the lake and enjoying the sunset.  

You will spend your morning relaxing and doing other activities like biking, visiting coffee farms at the Lake before transferring to Volcanoes National Park in the afternoon for the gorilla trekking activity.

Having arrived in Volcanoes National Park the Previous evening from Lake kivu, you will wake up early morning for your delicious breakfast and you head to trek the gorillas and other primates in the park, the activity can last for 2 to 3 hours depending on the distance where they are. You will spend one hour with the gorillas as you share a light moment with them through pictures.
You will return to your lodge for your hot delicious lunch and later depart for Kigali for your connecting freight or stay an extra day to enjoy Kigali.
